I agree – but it’s the only term that can encompass all forms of dance music made electronically.. i don’t normally use it otherwise 😛 but the word ‘Techno’ just whoever came up with it deserves to be shat on. Techno is an actual genre with blip blop noises from like the late 80’s i swear.. especially when people refer to Trance as techno i shed a tear.

Techno was usually attributed to the more ‘hardcore’ sounds of the scene (i.e. not house music), some tunes that are classed as happy hardcore are bouncy techno tunes to us of a certain age and even gabba was known as gabba tekno in it’s early days (and abbreviating that is where the name G-Tek comes from), but it seems to be an American thing (possibly because of the Detroit lineage) to class dance music as ‘techno’, though the rebranding brigade then started calling it EDM to try and get away from the reputation of ‘raves’. Fuck, I’m not drunk and I’m still rambling!

Yeah I thought it came out of detroit in the 80s can’t remember where I heard that though. You aren’t rambling man it’s good information..
Another pet hate is people that think they know everything about you when they barely know you..
People that judge others by the way they look/dress, i’ll admit i used to be like this and still do to some extent but only to get a ‘general’ idea of the person before I talk to them and then i’ll decide whether I like them or not. Same here my friend. It amuses me when people get one impression of me due to how I dress and then have to re-assess their opinion upon getting to know me. It’s good to challenge people’s perceptions and dispel myths man.

Why is it people throw their body and soul behind these things? I’ve never understood symbols. People attach meaning to them when there is no meaning… it’s just some artwork on a cloth. Yet somehow it gets interpreted as an excuse for stabbing someone else in the ribs.
Check out the recent riots in Belfast that went on for weeks, because they decided to only fly the Union flag over the town hall on certain days of the week. Think how petty that is. Violence, death, destruction over a meaningless symbol. People need to grow up!
