if you think PV is that bad why bother using the place at all? I don’t bother with commercial dance events in Norwich because they are too closely regulated (and not even safe…) and they don’t fit in with my ethos, but will make a compromise some for legal events in Suffolk – you have to make compromises at some point, otherwise you are left on your own and out on a limb..

BTW the issues regarding subscription and your “stirring the pot” are interlinked.

We enforced the “suscription to plug pay events” rule because a lot of Americans were spamming the board with huge commercial rave events a few years back, as well as large promoters like Gatecrasher(!), radio 1 etc.

We would have let the British / Euro promoters of smaller events post for free still but it would be divisive/racist to selectively apply the rules. From what I remember it wasn’t just done by Dr B on a whim, there was a fair bit of debate about it and especially the effects on smaller UK based promoters.

Ditto with people “trolling/stirring the pot”. you may say its “honourable” but what has it achived, other than a pointless argument, and how can it be put aside from anyone else just whinging for any other reason?

at the end of the day there is no guarantee of free speech on any forum, they are private property and resources of someone and the person what pays the hosting fees (which is Dr B, not myself) has the ultimate say over what the resources are used for.
