Mine was a party back in 95, i had only ever been to organised events before so this was unbelievable!!! started the evening by sqeezing 5 bodies in an XR2 n making our way to an industrial estate to meet up with the rest of the convoy (convoy being another 300 full cars) and waited for the Crew in there HUGE army trucks to show us the way to the party site this was an event on its own half the fun then was getting to the party, which was a massive warehouse with numerous rigs and full with all sorts of people from 8 years old to 60, Dred heads, hippies, boy racers (luckily not so many), skin heads, kids, oldies n it was great every type of person exept clicky people and every one was getting on great, every one smiling if they were not already too fucked to do so, even though it was a very dark atmosphere it felt like u could talk to any one and dance with any one any way u wanted every one was on the same vibe!!!! i was hooked! this is the way i liked to see people every one there for the same reason, no hassel.

I’ve only been to MK a few times TBH ; and can fully understand why the area is the butt of many a joke.

The urban matrix layout looks like a soulless maze, it was the first place I saw Thames Valley Police break up a rave with the TSG (riot squad), it housed the notorious cheese-fest commercial venue the Sanctuary (where idealistic young ravers often experienced their first arrest having been grassed up by bouncers, whilst gangs roamed free and mugged people)

Is always heavily featured in the local crime news – more so than Reading! usually stuff like people getting jacked for their mobiles/bikes or just beaten up on the “redways” (the traffic free underpasses put in in the 1960s so people could cycle in safety).

                        And its got concrete cows…

but apparently a fifth of the area is real green land and there is loads of environmentally friendly stuff here..

I’ve just heard an excellent documentary on BBC R4 about all this – and it should be repeated again… keep checking the site below and look for the 21st October (not the hydroelectric scheme which is last weeksn show…)

I Live in MK and u r right there r many reasons why MK is a joke what with the concrete cows n the red ways which was a nice idea as u can go any where in MK without having to cross a main road but at the same time thay are very dangerous as a lot of the red ways are hidden from the main roads n houses ( u wont catch me walking down one when its dark) there are a lot of twats in MK but i think that goes for every where, we are the largest growing city in the country!!! at the same time there are some really cool party people, u just got to know where to find us.
if people got out of there cars and had a walk round they would find some really lovely park land, loads of lakes, Rivers n woodland areas , Bowbrickhill woods being one of the area’s that some great paties have been held.
thanks for the link General Lighting i will keep checking it always nice to learn some new stuff about where we live
Harmlessfeet – ur right too think we attracting too many people, i come across more n more twats every day which is why i try n stay away from the city its where most of them are
