November 28, 2007 at 10:10 pm #1125511Like Tarfia, I also have workd throughout the last 9 christmases (and assured to get new years eve / day off raaa)
usually out of choice – family end up pissed and arguing and I like to avoid them if poss :hopeless:
but this year I’ll be off ‘sick’ after 2nd hand op, so mixed feelings
– looking forwards to being able to join in the festivities with friends (as usuall very sober over xmas period)
but no real excuse to avoid the family stuff so thinking of going away somewhere for a few days ๐oh and prague for a few days early dec with Mr Tank

In previous jobs they wanted ppl to work up until 24th december but theres no way I can get home to see my family so would have spent xmas alone if I didn’t stand my ground.ahh christmas alone would just be wrong… its all about your family getting drunk and doing your head in! ive got to finish work on christmas eve at half 4 then get a train to heathrow and catch a flight up to newcastle just so my family can drive me up the walls! i love it tho!
