Ok peeps time to get philosophical, I’ll start with one that many of you have probably already heard but I like it.
What if the light at the end of the tunnel isn’t heaven but in fact the light at the beginning of your next life on exiting the womb?
And to be less philosophical and ruin it all if we were to be reincarnated we wouldn’t always come from a womb and explain those born at night or in the
dark.November 14, 2012 at 3:49 pm #1262221What if the first person to record a potential food source as toxic to humans was simply allergic. Think of all the yummy berries we might be missing out on.
It’s worth pondering over, not that I suggest you go gorge on some deadly night shade or anything.

Are you saying tat you do not believe in any kind of spiritual afterlife??
November 14, 2012 at 7:27 pm #1262206”Silicon Heaven just a myth, preposterous, where would all the toasters go”
You want to wax philosophical……… even if their is a soul or spirit, and even if it is reborn when you die, both of which are highly unlikely given no one can quantify & identify either, or explain the transfer method, and given that the population increases with each generation. But say they do, then if you have no memory, you are reborn into a new family with new DNA, everything about you, your personality and abilities reset and started from scratch then how is it still you or any different to being dead………….. and whats the point of it if you cant learn from previous mistakes and do better the next time round ?
And on the point of the light being the new light from rebirth……… that would mean unborn babies have no souls until the point of birth, dont think you want to go there, it would upset all those that lose babies and justify experimenting on unborn as being soulless, mucho harshness.
Religion is just an outdated method of controlling people, before commercialism brought the carrot and law and order brought the stick while still alive, people needed to be promised good stuff for behaving and threatened with bad stuff for misbehaving after death.
I suppose the death/rebirth thing makes more sense in the hippy view in that every part of you will become a part of something else, return to the earth, be absorbed in other plants/animals and move up the food chain, but those parts would be so small and so dispersed it would never be you.

Pretty sure there’s a big expanse of land between Dorset and Cornwall with that name too, lol.
But there’s almost certainly a Devon in America, though it may be a person rather than a place over there!
