I was wondering that the other day to be honest. I doubt anyone here know what he’s up to since his port of call was generally in the Midwestern US.

I didn’t expect anyone to be in contact with him to be honest but you never know. Shame if he doesn’t return, he was really interesting guy. Had a lot of fresh things to bring to the table

Good point. I was thinking more had he taken a turn for the worse with his cancer.

I hope shoestring returns – to be fair it seemed he had managed to find some healthcare benefits and get treatment. However most US hospitals are very strict about what communications go in and out of the place and not all have net access for patients (he may also be too unwell to use a computer at the moment).

You could ask him in a youtube comment? That’s a good question come to think of it, i would say solar power? but i think that’s quite expensive for the initial buy of instruments.

I thought he was in hospital? he traveled all the time to didn’t he so might just not be near things. I did have his blog but lost the link.

Well he moved to the middle of nowhere in Alaska a while a go, then a few days ago his liver failed and he nearly died as he couldn’t call an ambulance (he posted a status on FB asking someone to do it for him as he had no signal). Now he’s on morphine and something else..

TBH It’s amazing what you can find out about someone on the internet.
