Good plan raver, I kept with my GF through her university year (all 4 of them) I was livin in Luton and she was going to university in Guildford.
That was more than 15 years ago and we are still together , married with a child !

My plans for 2007 (avoiding boring stuff about work), sort out my vintage scooter which is still “resting” in the garage and generaly concentrate on being happy, which sounds obvious but it isnt something I’ve concentrated enough on in the past….ohh yeah loose a stone!

my only big plans are to try as much as possible to think positive and do decent stuff in life (although that might not necessarily mean following all the rules :groucho:)

I find its pointless making big plans at the start of the year as things change – but even if setbacks happen something good may crop up

this time last year I was all ready to help my friends in SE England with their ventures (rig, recording studio etc) and maybe even do at least one Euro-Tek….

just as I was planning this my job in Reading was downsized and I had to look elsewhere – then an offer came up which meant I had to move to the East of England at short notice, leaving everyone (and a much-loved cat!) 150 miles away..

but its not been to bad here, work has been OK, I’ve met new friends in this area and still kept in touch with the old crew,

I also want to try to make good things happen in this area too – not so much “illegal raves” but safe friendly and fun events and creative stuff..

what I do want to do is visit Scotland later in the year (when it is warm :laugh_at::laugh_at:) and I should try and keep in touch more with my friends from Reading and London even if its just on the phone (I’ve got a contract mobile and VOIP so theres no excuse about costs)..

2006 was the worste year of my life,so any changes can only be good..

                  *Get a decent apartment

                  *Take better care of myself

*Accept things as they have turned out (health problems and family)

*Start a new education or find another job

*Try to make some of my dreams come true

                  *Not judge myself so hard

*Stop blaming myself for everything that have happend

                  *THINK POSITIVE

And a lot more :yakk: :yakk: :yakk: :yakk: :yakk:

Finally started work on a new sound system. The cash is sitting there and bits are starting to be bought and built. It wont be too big yet but 3-4k is all you really need up here as the parties aren’t very big.

We figured we’d rather have a smaller rig with good quality bits than buy all behringer and peavey and have it sound whack or fall apart. Its been three years in the planning so it feels quite good to see it all come together at last.

hahaha you have just dissed my rig mate – its mainly behringer and peavey:laugh_at::laugh_at::laugh_at:

The reason for the peaveys is they are bombproof amps and the behringers are the xovers :weee: [peaveys being the only amps I know that you can dismantle, wash in the sink and reassemble :groucho: – not for the fainthearted]

The secret of the sound is in the hand built, hand tuned [thiele] radiator cabs which have been chosen to have complimentary frequency ranges and have big amps with lots of headroom to power them. Oh yes and also the low resistance cables to the speakers and the soundcraft mixing desk which we use to control the sound output:weee:

We have used other amps but only the peaveys have survived all the use we have put them through although crowns might be nice if I had money to spend on them…

Its qsc for me….you can’t fault their warranty.

If the amp fails electronically at any point in its life they will fix it for free, even out of warranty. If you break it yourself they’ll fix it for a nominal fee. Though I’ve yet to see one break. Might use a couple c-audio’s in there as well. The older ones just before crown bought them….looking at getting one c-audio xr3801 for every four hd’s givin them an extra 50% on top of each driver.

I wasn’t insulting the build wuality of the peaveys, I just don’t like the sound. I am going to have an ultradrive as I couldn’t tell the difference between an ultradrive and a dbx driverack so its not worth shelling out an extra couple hundred quid. Even if one breaks then I can get another two new ones before I could get a new dbx driverack.

As for bins….I like folded horns. Its just what I was introduced to when I first started looking at sound systems. I know 4 hds won’t sound good on their own, but we have access to a couple of x1s until we have the cash for our own subs which should be before summer. The cabinets will all be made by me, with the help of a mate whose built quite a few before….so they will be of the best quality 😉
