May 7, 2007 at 11:58 pm #1104274we’d have to sort out the ratio of lasses to lads first though :laugh_at:wouldn’t want to appear sexist now :groucho:

the world has many many djs, but individuality and being unique is now something thats hard to find … basically dont play hardcore and find music that makes ya happy bro, thats what its all about.

i dunno what would be easiest to start DJ’ing on… i woulda imagined techno, maybe wrong though! havin said that a challenge is always good :weee:

dont feel like you have to assign yourself a genre … and good on ya for thinking that
brghhh ”dj” … i hate those two letters …
i always believe anybody sticking those in front of their ”name” is just looking for the attention those letters bring … mmm … but there isnt anyother way to describe what they/we or i do … is there?

just to clarify if any techno DJ is reading this… i mean start on, for me personally (mainly ‘cos i have a big enough collection of techno tunes!) ๐ i’m sure it’s not easy to DJ properly and well!
(i think i just about covered my tracks there!)Quote:dont feel like you have to assign yourself a genre … and good on ya for thinking thatcheers, yeah some nights i feel like some psytrance, other nights maybe some dark DnB, i don’t think i could pick a favourite genre if i tried :groucho:

yeah there is a huge “cool” factor to being called a DJ among a lotta people… i’d prefer an original more artist-style name tbh…
i couldn’t think of another 2 words that so literally describe what a DJ does other than disc jockey… but although i haven’t learned yet, the idea of being able to express myself through music and get the tunes across to people and i dunno, provide music for people to listen to… very appealin imo. hopefully someday i’ll produce some tracks too, that’d be my ultimate goal – and hearin them bein played by another DJ would be amazin raaa

and i’d love to hear the sound of you and you philosophys on the radio, always a pleasure
