      Hello.

I heard about this the other day and was absolutely astounded, so I had a hunt for it on BBC.

An American woman did her first solo parachute jump and both her main parachute and her emergency parachute failed. She fell about 3000 metres (or was it feet? Still a long way) landed in a car park and survived!!

Not only that, but her child WHO SHE DIDN’T KNOW SHE WAS PREGNANT WITH was unharmed.

      story here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/4527754.stm

I think everyone should know about this, it’s the most interesting thing I’ve heard all week. I’ve had a boring week.

I dunno, if I was her I’d either be shit scared of going anywhere near a plane ever again or be convinced of my immortality and go do lots of crazy stunts!

          Not sure which one, though…

this sort of stuff happened all the time in WW II – parachutes were made in huge quantities and like most industries build quality dropped as hours worked increased….

relatives of mine work in emergency medical care and they see all manner of nasty injuries presenting to their wards but most of the people the NHS deal with end up alive (for all their faults and mismanagement they are very good at emergency medicine).

the human body is actually quite resilient – bones break but they can be healed, it actually takes a lot to kill someone unless a firearm or poison is used or a vital organ is penetrated by a weapon.

Even if weapons are used people still survive, a record shop owner here was shot with 8x9mm parabellum rounds and is still alive today…

Babies in the womb are protected by their own “crash cage” of ribs (not that I am suggesting pregnant women take up extreme sports)

I’ve got a book somewhere where Jackie Chan relates his life story to reporters from a Kung Fu magazine – he has busted up virtually every part of his body at one point or another, seen the inside of multiple hospitals worldwide and is still doing stunts (he is going to give up at age 55 though and become a director). When you see the outtakes at the end of his films much of the pain is actually real..

A very important piece of information here guys.

As an American woman my theory is she is a typical American woman an weight somewhere in the region of 630lbs (45 stone) and ‘bounced’ off the concrete and out of harms way.

The fact that she never realised she was pregnant further increases my belief that she is, without doubt, a FAT BITCH. haha

This guy got shot in the head and lost 50% of his brain and hes still alive and not particularily disabled by it. Amazing.
