As you may or may not know, I manage a bong shop. Just me here working to earn a living to feed my kids and my party life style 🙂

Had a shit couple of weeks thanks to the law sniffing about a lot, there’s a polish delicatesy next door that sells dirt cheap special brew so all the piss heads hang around outside and the police move them on. Means people are too scared to buy a grinder along with their pre-rolled cones :/

It would bring a load of safe people in to the shop. Sell shit loads of paint, markers, canvas art etc. its another underground thing to get your shop known by, and there arnt many places in cities that sell proper paint. Just an idea.

August 4, 2011 at 11:56 pm #1242740I just do stencils, nothing arty really, just political funny things, but if I had a place near me that sold paint I would probably be in there two or three times a week spending money, it’s a massive pain in the arse having to wait for postage etc. Do it!
As for the old people, fuck them, you’re a successful, fairly young entrepreneur, I’m guessing the people who complain to you have had a much less successful career doing something much more mundane.

As for arseholes giving you hassle about selling kit, just try and remember it’s their ignorance of it and not necessarily the fact that they are just wankers… or at least not all of them are. Try not to take it personally as they’ve bought in to the idea that smoking weed is responsible for the downfall of our society.

in some areas down south (particularly London and SE England) openly associating a shop with graffiti can get the shop also scrutinised by authorities. (This isn’t the case in every part of the UK though, probably only areas where the public transport system and council has been overly tagged).
However, it is not in the slightest illegal to sell art supplies and all these things have many legitimate uses for people creating art in their own homes or shared spaces ….. its actually quite difficult to get hold of many art and graphic supplies these days other than shopping online as the commercial industry does so much on computers…
I actually am always after decent quality paint markers for legit reasons, for marking up equipment and cables at work…

ALOT of people do there shoping online nowdays and it might keep your business ticking over when the popo are scaring off customers.
