ParticipantIt’s just a case of finding the time… I’m working 9-5 and have been here a couple of months already. I’ll be leaving again in a year or so, so it would be great to meet some cool people sooner rather than later… Or at least have them inform me of things goin’ down / offer a ride to anything that I wouldn’t want to miss, iykwim!!
Haven’t been to a good party in aaaaaages … Went to my first one in a year or so the other month, and it was great to see all the old faces but the party itself wasn’t the most amazing…

yeah they blocked the road off, there was a party near Brighton though in the end. It was never going to happen at blackrock, the bacon had realised 2 or 3 statements saying they would not tolerate it this year and asking for land owners to keep a lookout too.

ParticipantHiya TG ๐ I’ve been pretty good thanks, and yourself?
I moved to Salford for a degree in acoustics a year ago or so, and now I’m doing a year out in the industry at a consultancy in Brighton.
Mostly happy… just really want to meet some people in Brighton who are on a similar wavelength to me :crazy_dru

Participant>Digitals OK, the rigs are fucking HUGE (sometimes I have to go upstairs…to much man!) They have the odd hospitality (dnb) night which is always good.
>Volks have the odd psytrance nights called ‘psysundays’
>The occasional rockabilly night called ‘stay sick’ is reallly good fun.
>a couple of reggae nights in ‘the fortune of war’
>avoid west street like the PLAGUE.
Oh and green door clubs alright.July 4, 2012 at 8:53 am #1228100thelog
ParticipantThe volks used to have a night called totaly techno every thursday night. Sometimes black box techno on saturdays. Those were the days.
July 4, 2012 at 11:03 pm #1228112Chemical needs
ParticipantMy sister found some mdma at a black box night…. I went to the green door store once, looks like a really cool venue but they were playing David Bowie and stuff like that – which I found very confusing….
I love fucking huge rigs – is why I have some earplugs ๐ Actually I’m a bit of a snob when it comes to rigs – I couldn’t really enjoy Mad Professor at Concorde2 because there just wasn’t enough sub bass ….
aren’t most club nights in Brighton a bit on the commercial side?
DnB used to be ok… Never really been my thing, but it’s gone the way of dubstep, innit? All big and nasty distorted synths, no soul/ funk/ grit, just a competition for the ‘illest’ nasty lead/ bass sound? “melt my face off with ur nasty bassline” type affair?
can’t wait for bangface weekender to get my fix of no-nonsense ridiculous rave up music :biggreen:
Apologies for my fragmented and bitchy post – I’m a dopehead with no dope …. :hopeless: lulz
July 4, 2012 at 11:22 pm #1228101thelog
ParticipantYeah clubs in brighton can be quite commercial TBh. the volks is quite underground though.
July 5, 2012 at 11:08 am #1228121Izbeckistan
ParticipantAll commercial clubs are commercial lol!
I’m not to big on concorde two for the same reason. Also I always find it hard to socialize there, lots of clicky little groups of friends. The last 3 times I’v been almost everyone was K’d up and being sick..and they didn’t look like they where having the best time.
Greendoor club can through some good parties, I’v been to some good funk nights, but last I time I went on a whim and they where playing early 2000’s chart-rap It was NOT GOOD!Saw rusko in audio earlier this year which was surprisingly really good! They had a few DJs which played sixties ska (my favourite) progressing to roots reggae, reggae and dub…the dub then progressed to dub step.
Im keeping my open for a big night in august for my mates 21st, if you here of anything let me know and likewise I’l let you know ๐

ParticipantYou should come to the underground music festival in horsham september. Its gonna be phat!!!!
July 5, 2012 at 11:53 am #1228113Chemical needs
ParticipantUnderground music festival, you say? This sounds relevant to my interests …. Though I am bangfacing 14th-16th, hope it doesn’t clash….
I used to really like Rusko, his sound was quite fun compared to all the serious stuff….. I met Rusko at Glasto a couple of years ago, providing the infamous nipple shot :biggreen: :biggreen:
I saw him again the following year, and he wasn’t too pleased about the whole nipple thing, lulz. That did amuse me!!! :biggreen:
July 5, 2012 at 2:42 pm #1228103thelog
