The original story

LONDON (Reuters) – British authorities were hunting down counterfeit condoms on Monday after 17 packets of fake Durex Extra Safe condoms were seized in west London.

Durex said fake condoms would not have been tested for microscopic holes, and there was a risk they might split.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) said: “Counterfeit condoms… cannot be considered to provide adequate protection against sexually transmitted infection or pregnancy.”

The agency said it was working with Durex’s parent company SSL International to track down the fakes, which can be identified by their dotted surface and fruity smell.

I duno about you guys but I don’t spend much time sniffing the condom when I’m with a girl.

They normally smell so awful!! I know I would notice if they smelt fruity :groucho::groucho:

And if the choice is sniffing the condom or unwanted pregnancy I will be sniffing the condoms….:laugh_at::laugh_at:

I thought they were. If you can be arsed to go down the family planning clinic then I thought they provide free condoms? Especially if you say you are going to Ibiza (or similar) for a few months 🙂

dunno about that

last time i went they wanted to know why i was planning to have sex (i’m married) and basically said unless i was ‘deprived’ i should be paying as they have very limited budget… almost to the point that they thought i was wasting their time

Yeah, although I have heard it was easy to get free condoms it was admitedly about 10 years ago when my friends were actually doing it. Things have probably changed.
