im lookin to buy the nintendo wii when it comes out. ive always loved the nintendo only games like mario and zelda, they have the best multiplayer games, plus the controllers look sweet.

At the moment we have the ps2, gamecube, dreamcast and saturn set up though I have an xbox back at my mums along with a snes and stuff that I need to get up.
December 4, 2006 at 12:42 am #1095708Haven’t used any of them yet. I’m suprised it’s taking so long for the PS3 to come out as it looks like they are losing a lot of top games contracts. The mighty GTA has moved over to the xbox360 for instance!

December 4, 2006 at 9:56 pm #1095712I’d get the Wii. Mainly because I’ve been so impressed by the DS. I think the Wii will have the innovative games that you’ll still be playing months from now…

The hype:
The X-Box 360 was supposed to be totally awesome, Photo-realism, the last barriers between reality and gaming blurred forever.The reality:
Umm…I played a few games. The graphics were cool. The game play for most of them was actually kinda’ annoying. I didn’t like the structure of the games I tried either.My suspicion for the PS3 is that it’s going to be similar. They’ve got these insane processors in there and have figured out how to pack even more detail into even smaller spaces, but umm, it’s just a beefed up spec, innit?
Now we have the Wii. And WOW! The Wii is actually – EXCITING!
They actually are doing something…innovative. Rather than just using Moore’s Law to give you an upgrade, they’ve actually thought about…games! What a weird thing to do for a gaming console these days!December 5, 2006 at 2:31 pm #1095711My sentiments exactly, anyone can continue down the line of modifying the disks to hold more and generally upppin the consoles abillilty….its eben going on since the ps1 came out, and the only innovative thing about that was it used cds instead of cartridges.
Finally theres something new for me to wile away the time between lectures.

The Wii looks like something that would be fun to play when your mates are round.

Would be good to get a go on teks wii. But i can see it now, everyone queing up while his brother insists that he will let us play when he loses. :hopeless:

Actually on that note, I own a PS2 and a Dreamcast. And even though the Dreamcast flopped, it has countless fun and creative games.

Hell GTA is worth it for Lazlo alone!!
But yeah if they could offer even more expansive and realistic environments for a magical GTA 4, that would bring me back.
I use so many gaming devices it’s stupid!!
I have my Gameboy SP for when I’m bored and want to play something on a long commute.
I use my Dreamcast for games like Crazy Taxi and Gauntlet Legends.
I use the PS2 for GTA and Gran Turismo, and maybe the Urbz if I want to kill some time.
I absolutely LOVE Civilization on the PC.
Oh and I really miss my Atari 7800 and C64 which I left behind in California.
Oh and there’s that Atari 2600 in my desk at work that I should bring home.

ahh the memories….
i think the controllers/remotes will be the dogs once people get used to em. and you can always plug your GC ones in if you dont like em.
