My boss is ridiculously good at this, I call him psychic haha. Really all it is is that he pays a lot of attention, is good at noticing patterns and taking into account many variables. What it results in is him (cockily) making fast driving decisions that could go very wrong if his gut feeling isn’t right, and always getting away with it. He never puts a seatbelt on until 15 seconds before a squad car appears around the corner, with such a degree of success it’s scary. It will bit him in the arse one day though.
