I dont like Winamp,or WMP for that matter….VLC is excellent,i also like Media Player Classic, which is nothing to do with WMP at all
I tend to use Quintessential Player for musicWorking for a recycling company, doing aluminium and steel can collections…its good fun and it good to work for something that makes a difference
Goldwave is pretty damn good, really intuitive and easy to use. After you have done the recording,Goldwave has excellent editing functions, most usefully the noise and hum reduction.
Oh to have more of a life…ive spent much of the weekend, and some of last week, laying carpet and decorating
Bill Hicks died,if memory serves,in ’94…i only remember him doing a show in the ‘Burg in ’92-ish as i was living in Edinburgh at the time as a student. Two of my mates worked in the local radio station and were meant to get a load of free tickets…it turned out they only got a ticket each,as demand was through the roof,so i didnt get to go.
I was gutted
I could well be wrong, but i dont remember him playing anywhere in Scotland after that Edinburgh gig.
The man’s a genius, ive got one of his shows on video from the Montreal Comedy Festival,i dont remember the name of the vid offhand, its one of the official ones. But he’s on top form.
I love they way he would do a gag or two, then do a gag that references an earlier one,and pretty soon everything in the show seems to be linked.elretardo87 wrote:i saw him live at the fringe in edinburgh….legendary
That would have been around ’92…when you were 4 😉Excellent,ta
just need to burn off some stuff to allow room for it on the hdd 🙂I live in a part of the country, where not a great deal happens club or partywise,so a small group of mates ,myself included started doing little small scale parties, basically just for ourselves and immediate friends…these parties got bigger and better 🙂
As for after partying,i like to chill out with some Dub,somewhere comfortable, get whatever food i can bear to eat down my neck and have a beer or twoNay,havent heard it,got a link?
Its always difficult to nail down your fave tune to one track…so im going to plump for ‘Voodoo Ray-A Guy Called Gerald. As its one of the tunes that made me think that there might just be something in this dance music thing.
I am ashamed to admit i dont know a colossal amount about Hardtek, but i know i like the Diesel mix on the 6tems Anon site…its excellent
nope,still doesnt work
most odd,ive never had a problem with any of my other feedsBittorrent is more or less a fancy peer to peer network. If Partyvibe were to go down this route, then all they would have to host is the torrent files for each of the downloads and not the actual sets/videos themselves(a torrent file is on average about 30kb).Those actual sets/vidoes would be on Patyvibe users pc’s ,so the bandwidth consumed would be whoever was up/downloading and not the site. However if there isnt a great deal of traffic, then it might not be the best idea.
I think that as Use says,if the content of those sets were to change on a regular basis, and if they were done via a Partyvibe Bittorrent tracker then it could not only provide a reason for folks to return, but also add to the community of Partyvibe.Failing that, the only way i can think to reduce bandwidth is to remove things like avatars, big images etc.
I cant get the RSS link to work…im using Firefox and the RSS logo doesnt come up where it should on the site.I also have an extension to add RSS feeds into Firefox from links and that doesnt work either.
Any ideas?Is the problem bandwidth?
If so then what about taking the mp3 sets down from the site…they could be hosted on Partyvibe users pc’s and downloaded via Bittorrent, which might actually add to the community vibe.Using Bittorrent could reduce could dramatically reduce bandwidth costs.I did the traditional neeps, tatties and haggis thing with my folks
Hows about a slightly different approach?
setup two big rigs opposite each other and have a proper soundclash…a dj from one rig plays a record,or possibly a short set, then a dj on the other takes over and it goes back and forth.Good to be back 🙂
I can see theres still some folks i remember on the board, and quite a few i dont know, which is goodThat sounds interesting…i would like to have a go at as simple a setup as poss…just to see if its for me,and so i dont spend a fortune doing it.Dip my toe in the water sorta thing.
Is Ableton what you use Jah Warrior?
what kinda stuff do you do?Following an outcry, mainly from a few developing African nations…Windows 98 has had something of a repreive.
Updates will be available for a good while yet.
Somewhat cynical descision by Microsoft imo….i’m thinking they just dont want whole countries switching to Linuxa dj mate of mine played at a nye house party i had a couple of years ago for 6 hours straight….then fell asleep less than 10 minutes later.
Typical lightweight dj type :p 😀‘Lo Racer, welcome aboard
😀For dub,try Lee Scratch Perry-anything from the Black Ark period, the compilation ‘Arkology’ is a good place to start.
Also try some King Tubby,Augustus Pablo,The Mad Proffessor,African Headcharge,Audio Active…lots of good stuff on On-U Sound -
