This is something that puzzles me really. I am scared of spiders like many people are but i don’t really know why, I know they are like the ugliest looking thing i’ve ever seen but still you shouldn’t judge a book by its cover as they say lol, they just look evil I guess.. really though i don’t know why I cant get over there looks and just learn to except them an not be scared because its not like they are bigger than humans or they are going to kill anyone.. so i’m interested, why do you think people are so fearful of spiders? and is there any possible way of learning to like them?

That is idiotic in so many ways, but given your poor use of the English language I’ll assume your stupidity is genuine.

The fact that you perceive them as looking evil is the reason you fear them. Without having any knowledge on the species you’ve encountered, naturally and in instinct you’ll judge it by how hazardous it looks. Obviously the fact that you (perhaps only subconsciously) decided they look hazardous you will be fearful, as fear generally detracts you from dangerous situations.

Also (not in the UK) plenty of nations have arachnids significantly smaller than your average human but with enough venom to kill numerous humans.

          Evolutionary

An*evolutionary reason*for the phobias, such as arachnophobia,*claustrophobia,*fear of snakes*or*mice, etc. remains unresolved. One view, especially held in*evolutionary psychology, is that the presence of*venomous spiders*led to the evolution of a fear of spiders or made acquisition of a fear of spiders especially easy. Like all traits, there is variability in the intensity of fears of spiders, and those with more intense fears are classified as phobic. Spiders, for instance, being relatively small, don’t fit the usual criterion for a threat in the*animal kingdomwhere size is a factor, but nearly all species are*venomous, and although rarely dangerous to humans, some species are dangerous.

Most of our feelings have their roots in evolution. For example being attracted to breasts. (they indicate the ability to reer children) and discust (vomit, urine, mould and excrement are all very bad for you so we have evolved to be discusted by them )

It’s like this – most people are really children who never learn to conquer fear 100%.

Or put it another way, most human beings are, to one degree or another, fucking crazy irrational morons who only care about a) Money and b) Sex.

fear is what makes you feel alive, 20+ years ago some bloke climbed up Mount Everest without any oxygen, when you came back down he was barely alive, they (whomever THEY are) asked him why did you go up there to die? he said he didn’t, he went up there to live.
