Do you mean there is blocking software in use from where you are surfing? Are you in college or the library?

We keep an eye on this sort of filtering; also this is one reason why we try and keep PV “work/college safe” so people can share info even if they are on filters..

there are different kinds of blocks, some just blacklist whole sites but others go through messageboards and check content. Often both are used at once. In my last job I couldn’t swear too much when posting to PV as then the thread would then be blocked!

I think your teachers/IT head usually go through the logs every so often and the software shows a list of popular sites which is how they add them to the blocks. The worst thing about some versions of this software is that just one school/company can flag a site and then every other organisation which uses the blockers will also have the site blacklisted.

At least you only have a year or so left and presumably a PC at home where you can surf what you want…

the board should be back to normal now – maybe Site had to reset some things to make sure everything was OK which would log people out but all the rubbish should be gone now.
