I think that’s one of the main things I like about this place

Although its an ‘online forum’ we kinda get to ‘know’ each other ( the ‘hardcore’ posters) and there always seems genuine consern when someone’s not about – even if we’ve never met in the ‘real’ world

I remember when I went missing at a party in Manchester for a day or so after and came back to a whole thread about if anyone had seen me, someone had even managed to get hold of a mate of mine outside of the forums to see if I’d reported back to base. Was pretty touching, proper caring community, love it. It’s one of the reasons why I don’t mind spending my time helping out about the place (it’s not like I don’t spend loads of time on here anyway hehe).

I too have my own experience of this, when my computer was being repaired, Izbeck very kindly started a thread wondering as to my whereabouts. The regulars always seem to be noticed when they’re not around, I like that.

I’ve been through about 2 weeks of 112nederland.nl and de volkskrant but thankfully not found anything about an English tourist coming to serious grief in any major form. However with any minor incident he would be just treated in hospital, and returned to Blighty with the hospital trying to keep full confidentiality as NL privacy laws are very strong, they would normally only publish an incident if someones next of kin were hard to find or the person had been reported as a misper to the local authorities..

Don’t think he’s on fb mate, seem to remember him mentioning that a few times before. Once he checks back in, we’ll make him go on fb just so we can all keep tabs on him!
