This could be a good one for you AHC!
With thousands of bags lost at Heathrow’s Terminal 5, some people will never see their luggage again. So what happens to bags when the hunt for their owner ends?
In a small warehouse filled with furniture, electrical goods and clothing hanging from the ceiling in clear plastic bags, a battle of egos is under way.
A bidding war has charged the air with tension.
But this isn’t Christie’s or Sotheby’s – it’s Greasby’s in Tooting, south London.
And none of the prospective buyers are hoping to buy rare artwork.

April 16, 2008 at 7:00 pm #1160634I often wondered what happened with lost luggage… went to a festival in Hungary last year and changed planes at Praque but the tent and a bag never made it and we were told to wait 6 hours for the next flight from manchester to see if they were on that one… ne way 6 long painful hours later it didnt turn up:cry: so we had to share a 1 man tent with a friend (there were 3 of us) which wasnt waterproof(there was a massive thunderstorm!)
the tent and missing bag turned up a week after we got back home:head_bang
coulda been worse tho I suppose at least it turned up..there must be alot of belongings permantly lost every day
