two stabbed and three bottled in nightclub bust-up
FIVE people were taken to hospital and nine others were arrested after violence broke out inside a nightclub.
Cops used stop and search powers and closed off the surrounding roads for an hour-and-a-half.
A Met spokeswoman said the violence began with a fight inside Tienda Latina in Rye Lane, Peckham.
She said two men were stabbed and three bottled in the head shortly before 3am on
Friday. More than 250 clubbers were evacuated but tempers flared as they waited on the street, and fighting broke out.
Cops moved in to break up the mob at 4.30am, using Section 60 of the Criminal Justice and Public Order Act.
This allowed them to stop any pedestrians or vehicles and search them for offensive weapons.
Nine people were arrested. Two were charged with public order offences and the remaining seven released on police bail.
The stab victims were said to be in a stable condition as we went to press yesterday.
The men bottled in the head were said to have “superficial” injuries.
Cops are still looking for witnesses.
