Norwich Free Shop
Thu 08th May, 2008 Gentleman’s Walk, NorwichBring stuff you don’t want, take stuff you do want. It happens opposite Lush on Gentleman’s Walk in the Centre of Norwich. It is weather permitting – rain in the morning, or poor forecasts will prevent it from happening.
***What’s it all about then?***
We see the Free Shop as a good example of recycling in action. As anarchists we want to encourage people to share what they have, and question whether everything should be for sale. We also hope that it is a resource for the seriously hard up – we see it as a direct mutual aid project.
Volunteers to sit behind it always welcome!
Use the group to reminisce about all the amazing stuff you got on the free shop, all the amusing tales from volunteering there and to spread the word!
***How to give stuff to FreeShop***
FreeShop need free stuff to be great – we’d like your stuff. The very best thing to do is bring your donations along to the stall on the *8th* of any month.If you really can’t bring things along on the day email freeshopnorwich@yahoo.co.uk & we’ll see what we can do. Freeshop has a very limited ammount of storage space/transportation.

I’ve got loadsa crap that I could do with offloading before I have to go to uni. I’ll probably end up coming back with more than I take though…

There’s quite a lot of crap being given away along with some usefull stuff like dining tables, fridges etc and the odd jem
They send you about a million e-mails (well 2 or 3) per day which tend to clutter your inbox though.
I like what the anarchists at Freeshop are trying to do though (actually bringing all the stuff to an easyily accessible point) for the benefit of people who probably don’t have access to the net. I know I wouldn’t have access if it wern’t for college.

I think this happens regularily in an estate in Hulme (the redbricks) where my friend lives as when I visited she took me a wandering to see what was about – got some good books for me self and she got a nice lamp 😉
