Depends on what you are wanting to do. Not really rave material to be honest.

700 of what? US dollars, Pounds Sterling?, Euros, rupees? this is an international site and folk use different currencies. and where would we get it from anyway?

in many countries there are some rules on pointing strong light sources into the public highways, this isn;t the sort of thing you should encourage young people to do without considering the wider implications.

I came very close this week to calling 999 on some blighter who was a shining a green laser pen into a dark country lane as I was cycling home, had this idiot been shining it towards me I could easily have been dazzled and pranged my bike from not being able to see road hazards.

The folk who did that trick with the zebra crossing would have had to clear it with the council first.

BTW if you are working for LG and trying to market their products it is more ethical to state you are doing so, and to also participate in this community rather than just make a single marketing post. I have personally provided a friend from here’s then employer with a new business contract from a discussion we had on a chat room about where she was working.

Its more likely to gain you long term sales than this “viral marketing” stuff. I’m currently typing this on one of two LG HD 1080p LED monitors which I got a couple of years ago, that have served me well apart from the on off/button coming adrift on one of them (so I had to remove it, black tape up the LED and leave it permanently in standby which isn’t very eco friendly), the telly downstairs is LG (I thought it was a Samsung) and so are some other displays about at my work so I know LG make decent stuff – but I’d rather companies used spare marketing resources for long term customer support than trying to pre-advertise a new product.

700 whatevers will buy you a pretty good laser setup. If you don’t have one, invest in that instead.

Unless its 700 rupees then absolutely not worth it.

I bought the Dell ML110 LED projector when it first came out, and even then it was only £150. I soon learnt small and delicate is not what you want for a outdoor party. That LG thing won’t be bright enough (it may be brighter than the originals, but no match for a real bulb) and it’ll be fragile, which may sound ironic comparing it to a bulb, but it’s likely true (think connector strength etc). Mine is now missing a range of colours too, so pretty much fucked. Lets assume you’re talking Pounds. For 700 you can get 2 decent full size HD projectors (mount them in modified foam lined flight cases!) or as Chrispydelic says, a laser. Lasers are infinitely brighter and much better party material for ‘looking cool’. As long as its a high scan rate ILDA compatible job it’s what you want.

Can’t recommend anything in particular as there’s so many to choose from. Don’t knock all the Chinese imports from EBay though, after all everything is made in China and they’re putting out some well made alternatives to the branded ones. That being said, Equinox seem to be the make of choice in the budget range, as they’re reasonably priced and come in many pretty colours (again, as long as it says ILDA compatible it should look sweet).

Most of mine came from China!
