Top 10 most bizarre experiments

2.Aircraft passengers told they are about to die in crash make more mistakes in written test. Conclusion: Extreme stress harms cognitive ability

Why would anybody who was just told they are about to crash, carry on doing a written test? The only possible explanation is that they are aware that the crash warning is part of the experiment, therefore making the experiment useless.

Why would anybody who was just told they are about to crash, carry on doing a written test? The only possible explanation is that they are aware that the crash warning is part of the experiment, therefore making the experiment useless.

I think that this experiment proves more than just that stress effects your ability to fill out a form, but also that soldiers have been brainwashed so much. that even when they belive they are going to die they will still follow the orders of a senior officer, even if it seems like a totally pointless order. dont know if thats a good or a bad thing.
