just been to the pub with a mate and we’re talking about random shit and how we took too much acid last year and sort of lost the plot and how easy it is to get caught up in random theories, ideas and stuff like 2012 and other mystical stuff.

then this guy comes over and starts spouting loads of random shit some of it pretty much exactly what we were saying. he was saying how he’s seen lights and we’re moving to a new conciousnes and going to a new level and that were not alone and how the governments have abused us and that atlantis happened 26,000 years ago (?!) and that this new age is coming up. and he kept repeating how it was happening and that people dont know it, but then going on about thinking he’s going crazy and hasnt got many friends. he seemed sort of there but then sort of not…

seemed like he’d got loads of different theories and pieced them all together. anyway me and my mate tried to talk rationally to him, well as rational as i can be anyway! saying you know dont let this consume you try and think of other stuff and if its getting too much as he was saying he thought he was going mad maybe go to the doc. he wouldnt really listen, but kept going on about seeing lights and were not alone etc.

but got me thinking are people that have gone mad actually gone mad or can they see the world/reality for what it is and thats what makes them come across as mental. deffinatly gave me a bit of a reality check anyway.

ended up feeling a bit sorry for him (sounds really patronising) but spoke to the bar people to see if they knew him, apparently he’s a local, but they think he’s a bit strange. hope he’s okay really. :hopeless::love:

There’s this story about Salvia, some guy did it and killed himself like a week later. In his suicide note it said ‘How can i continue living when i know all the secrets of the universe’

many psychonauts have noted that the psychedelic experience seems to be changing over time.. this could be due to tolerance etc but some people think its related to the approach to 2012

im a skeptic about the whole thing but society and information is racing ahead exponentially so i do kinda expect shit to change in the not too distant future

I guess that depends on whether you think that reality is just a matter of personal perception. According to wilkipedia reality is defined as; “Reality is the state of things as they actually exist, rather than as they may appear or may be thought to be”. But I think that is a very western definition of reality and I personally dont believe in an objective reality, I am all for perception. Or at least I think that’s what I think, I still dont know much about it.

Buddhists (and many others presumably) believe that things have no intrinsic existence at all and its all about perception, so that seems to contradict the definition of reality given in wilkipedia.

Quantum mechanics suggests that perception literally changes reality, as I understand it, so that adds a whole knew layer to the currently brewing alachol/philosophy headake I am developing.

Note to self, read a damn philosophy book! Still not got round to it.

im really surprised thats teh definition, mainstream science tells us that reality us full of quantum uncertainty and as you say it is shaped by conscious observation, implying reality is set in stone is misleading

I was surprised too tbh, could just be wilkipedia being unbalanced.

i guess the english version is written by westerners.. so would have western influence on definitions

I’m down with this stuff. I have a feeling that something life changing is going to happen quite soon.

I’ve already built my shelter in the woods. Although I’m not that sure how much protection a hole in the ground will give but at least I’m slightly prepared for the coming storm.

theres reports of people have similar feelings to this after dmt. apparently a few people in the trials from that rick strassman book said they thought about suicide after taking it as they wanted to move on to see what happened next.. no one did do it though and said it was just curious thoughts rather than actually feeling depressed and wanting to end it.

@iacchus i think that is probably just the wiki dictionary definition of what reality the word means. if you read a bit more of that wiki article it goes on to explain what reality the concept means…
