because there are people who listen most of the time, and it can be easier to get it out when you don’t have to look people in the eyes?

This is probably true if not certainly true. I think most people are quite different on the net, just sucks my worst bad habits show so much. Still, at least I am trying to do something about it. I think 2bh spending so much time on my own has made me a little odd, getting out into the work should restore a good dose of normalism hopefully.
