i think that most people have friends in real life, and its more weird than wonderful to say happy birthday to total strangers. if i have chatted with someone online quite a bit, i’ll send em my regards or whatever, but to just wish every single person on here happy birthday is boring and tedious if you ask me. and it also turns the whole thing into a farce.

the noise to signal ratio on this board is usually quite good… but we have 13,237 members, and only 365 days in a year! it just clogs up the board, and detracts from the real purpose and aim of the board, which is described on the front page.

i think you’ll find that the people on there who i was refering to are people ive actually talked to and have some kind of relationship with, be it in real life or online. to randomly congratulate every member just for being on the board seems ridiculous.

im not stopping you messaging strangers, i just think its retarded to complain that other people who actually have a life dont do the same. comparing yourself to cilla doesnt do much good…she is a computer program.
