I thought i knew about postal orders but . . . . Have been to the Royal Mail site, it didn’t really clarify what i need to know.

My sister has sent me a Postal Order. It isn’t crossed, but is made payable to me.

Can i just cash it in at the Post Office – or does it have to go into my Building Society account? (Building Society = 3 days til it’s cleared!)

*Was gonna ask Yahoo Answers, but they’ll tell me any ol’ crap just to get the points lol.

      Thanks upfront 🙂

uncrossed ones can still be cashed at the Post Office according to this site

        http://www.postoffice.co.uk/portal/po/content1?catId=73500709&mediaId=73500713

the Royal Mail and Post Office are separate business units – Royal Mail just deal with the logistics of the letters / parcels now (post office try and sell theirs and other services)

Cool thanks – i was just confused over whether it made a difference being a) uncrossed, or b) uncrossed with my name on. I used to buy them alot but that was eons ago. I vaguely remember having to make it payable to ‘Post Office Counters’ or sthg like that. Thanks for that GL 🙂
