Party Vibe Appreciation Thread

Hi All :group_hugraaa

I’ve noticed a few username appreciation threads knockin about and thats great but thought it’s about time we reserve a smull portion of the web for the appreciation of Party Vibe as a whole and what it means to us. So I here by declare this very area of the web to be maintained for that very purpose.

Il start by saying thanks to all who have warmly welcomed me to Party Vibe and made me feel at home. I have registered with a couple of other similar forums but quickly grew bored of them, PV is different though as it has real sense of community. I only registered a month ago but judging by what iv seen so far il defo stick around if thats groovy?

Good man, you’re a trooper E-M! You’re right about the sense of community on here too, think it’s because we talk about life, the universe and everything rather than just focus on one particular thing. We ain’t just one dimensional characters on here dude, that’s why it works.

There is a North European concept called gezelligheid (NL) / Gemütlichkeit (DE) / hygge (DK) which is near untranslatable into English but is a sense of community and happiness which is classed as very important when you live in a country with sometimes harsh weather, strongly differing political views amongst folk (a flipside of free speech and elections) and the risk of the North Sea bursting in at any coastal area. It’s something that’s almost untranslatable because it’s an alien concept to most folk over here mate. Little Englanders are so closed-minded. They’re the sort of people who go abroad and then go & seek out the English bars in that area and spend their entire holiday drinking in them and eating chips! Why the fuck these people don’t just book a week at Haven is completely beyond me!

Good point about the North Sea connection too dude, coincidence or something more obscure?…….

given this started out as a rave/party site I think the North Sea connection originally had a lot to do with the commodities associated with the scene, but its interesting how a lot of the community has persisted in having links there. With regard to wider communities the fact that it is a source of lots of useful things but sometimes way more water than any one nation or community wants to deal with (and even old Father Thames is getting incontinent in his old age) means that its important folk work together to deal with this…

hygge = is the state of which you get the cosy feeling… in norwegian they use ‘kos’ as the same as ‘hygge’ in fact the word ‘kos’ have multiple meaning as it is also the same as a ‘hug’ but more on the sincere side as the word ‘klem’ is also ‘hug’ but more formal….

You’re never gonna get ridicule on here for being a freaking mess mate, we’ve all been there man, most of us very recently! Good thread – don’t know why it didn’t work in 2007, but it’s working now dude.

And whilst we’re on the subject of pv appreciation, a big thank you is due to all who helped get ‘Mandy’ past the 2000 hit mark on youtube – that 2nd 1000 came round a hell of a lot quicker than the first one & from the stats, I know that a large amount of the views have come from here, so thank you to all who’ve taken the time to watch it.
