I once saw a nature programme where the usual boffins and camera ops took to a boat in order to film what they found in the sea.

There were whales in that area, but every time they got near to the whales a load of dolphins turned up and made a big din which sent the whales away (they had some special microphones and equipment so you could hear te noise that they make)

ISTR The scientists and camera crew asked some other nautical types in the area about this and they said “its only your ship the dolphins make a fuss about – we’ve been right up next to the whales without problems”

It turned out the ship the TV crew were using was an old Japanese whaling ship ….
