interesting – especially as there is the remains of a gutted 1990s era PC in my sitting room at the moment, and the floppy drive isn’t much use nowadays as most content is way too big for it in 2006 I actually confiscated the remaining stock of floppy disks at work and got folk USB tags instead as i was fed up with users reporting that their “files wouldn’t save/were becoming corrupted” when they were trying to stick a 5 megabyte word document full of embedded images onto a 1.44MB disk..

I have to confess though it should be possible with an Arduino as they use a similar chip the dude has written all his code in assembler with interrupt driven routines and that is a bit much for me first thing in the morning… I’ll try and remember this for reference as it shows you how to output MIDI from these microcontrollers…
