Grrr now probably the worst thng has happened. My escape, my zone my “special place” has broken. : (
My headphones have decided to die. There is a break in the wire and only the left channel is working and when it does it sounds muffled. Also I can’t find my little mini screw drivers so I can’t even have a look inside. They have a years garuntee but I cannot find the receipt for shit. I remember when I unboxed them I took the receipt inside the box. I am 100% sure of it. But now it is not there. So I am stuck without sounds. It had to be just when I decide to go back to making tunes.
Why does the world hate me so ????

September 2, 2012 at 12:16 pm #1257563September 2, 2012 at 12:23 pm #1257561this is the point I was making in the Brighton party thread about how a region can’t thrive on just hedonism culture alone..perhaps due to ancestry or karma or other mystic things there have always been pointers in my life I would move towards a coastal area…
even a few years ago there were many electronics and computer companies in South London and Sussex (not all making bad shit like atom bombs, we built the first affordable family size colour TV set for Europe in Croydon), as well as the creative industries still being thriving (I remember reading somewhere a list of all the performers South London has produced).
had I found work in that area I would have had my house and home studio/workshop still in SE England and I may well have decided a coastal area on the South Coast would be a good place to be.
Tinsel wire is loathsome stuff to work with, but I would at least got log’s cans working or lent him a spare set of mine – OK they wouldn’t have been perfect as I use mine for DJ’ing and aren’t as fussy about the frequency response like log and Daftfader are but he would have been able to carry on with his music…
September 2, 2012 at 12:47 pm #1257567Jesus fuck loggy, it don’t stop does it? Presumably they’re proper headphones & not just walkman-style earphones? If ya average earphones’ll do, I’ve got a spare set knocking about that u can use mate.

Its cool I have just gone out and bout a new set, tomoz I’m gonna take back the old ones and say they are not working and get my refund. When I contacted Lyco about the first problem I had with them they wouldn’t accept that I knew what I wanted and kept asking me to try getting a new mic cable although I knew the problem had nothing to do with the mic cable. As I say I had lost the receipt so they wouldn’t exchange them so this is my way of getting what I wanted.

Devious plan mate, I like it. Ridiculous to think that these are the levels you have to go to these days, but businesses are wankers unfortunately!

Sometimes a manufacturers warentee doesn’t require a receipt of purchase, normally it does, but sometimes if you register the product you basically sign up and say it’s not stolen amongst other things, so they will deal with you. Not sure it can be done with things like headphones. It’s worth checking out first though.
