              Update –

Well – at the grand old age of #$%&*&*( – and a half) I made it onto the pages of Don’t Stay In! I asked the photographer to airbrush me fit again, but . . . oh well, who cares haha!:weee:

Wicked nite – off me trolley, stomped me little heart out, lost the plot on the dance floor, waffled cod-shit to strangers, and went to never-never-land with my chosen family!
Met some luverly peeps, music was rite up my alley, and blew those cobwebs straight outa the way. Well overdue it was.:bounce_fl :group_hug :crazy_diz 😉 :weee:

Plenty of us old veterans there was . . . in particular, Colin, bout 102 i think lol – he was always at the Corn Exchange when i went there every Friday nite in my Punk era, bout 1977-80. Never really knew him, but we knew each others faces. First time I saw him since then, was last March, at the Eclipse reunion, also at the Junction. He was up onstage at the front, Absolutely AVVVVIN – IT!! He’s unstoppable, what a geezer! Big respect!

Good thing i went out that nite though. . . . . . . . stood me in good stead for the mayhem which unfolded the very next day.

To cut a v.long story short, I have houseguests for a while. They are wicked – all 4 of them – 2 of them are very small people. It is 21 years since i held or bathed a baby, and it’s freaked me rite out. My nice neat little world has been turned upside down – heehee – but its all good, been a bit stagnant lately, in a rut. Do me good it will!!:groucho:  :groucho:  :groucho:

But children?!?! . . . It is official, I am OLD. I now ‘couldn’t eat a whole one’ LOL! Bless em tho, I luv em to bits, cute n cuddly they are! Just have to put everything I own UP – 3 foot up! outa harms way! :groucho:  :groucho:  :groucho:

Not all of em are liteweights tho’ – don’t wanna start stereotyping, people mite think i am getting on a bit lol – but i seriously do have to be physically removed from dancefloors to go home – BEFORE the end of the do sometimes wtf is that about? And by people half my age grrrr! The yoof of today! :laugh_at: :laugh_at: :laugh_at:

glad to hear it was a good night…was tempted to go myself but needed to save a bit of money and have had a very busy time at work recently…

if I was looking at your DSI pic without knowing your real age I would have said you were about 10-12 years younger than that…. (mind you people say that about me)

I’m actually getting used to the fact that I am now becoming a “veteran raver” (started in 1991), and these days I am sometimes the oldest person at some events….

OTOH I reckon this lifestyle does keep your mindset fairly “youthful…”

I agree with what you say about sometimes being (or wanting to be) the last person standing at a party, although to be fair a lot of younger people have more pressures on their lives and jobs that involve working weekends these days (particularly in East Anglia) which is why many seem to want to leave early…

 why Thankyou General! *trying to be modest but secretly chuffed!! Haven’t had anyone say that for a while – since i started my current job 3 1/2 yrs ago. Ironic heh? It isn’t the lifestyle, it’s the job taking it’s toll!

Think you are right about the youthful outlook on life. I often joke that i have been ’embalmed in vodka, and preserved by chemicals’ lol!

It’s so easy to let this crazy world grind you down. But i have realised that letting off steam at parties gives me the strength, physically and mentally, to get through the rest of it! Whenever i feel i may be at the end of my raving career, I find myself having a ‘moment’ on a dancefloor, of total clarity. . . . WHY i started, WHY i am still doing it, and . . . . . WHY i can’t stop!! It happened last weekend at Epidemik, and last March at Eclipse Reunion. Both times, i hadn’t been out for a while, and was ‘lost’ mentally, confused, by life, by me, everything!
I am still reaping the inner rewards of last week :group_hug
