nothing dodgy about this, but lets face it down south at least there are way less raves than before, and those what still happen are spread out a lot longer.
I think a lot of people from some areas join up, realise that getting to a party these days takes way more effort and more risks – fuel isn’t getting any cheaper, drivers are put off by the risks of having their car seized or just landing up on the “shit list” of “known rave drivers” (which means every traffic cop in your county will be on your case)
plus if you are having good parties down south, you have to be deliberately vague as these forums are definitely monitored by cops – two separate cops in my county have told my friends they are personally watching this site!
then there is still plenty else for people to do – such as hanging out with friends locally, college, careers, families, travel, all of which take greater priority these days. But if people like the music they still tend to come back for the radio and MP3s in particular. I know of people in my area who have never posted here but are always on here to get MP3s etc..

September 2, 2008 at 10:22 am #1178697i’d say a lot of people who sign up…from what ive seen…either want to know where to go to a free party, or where to get some sort of drug from lol. once they find out that information has to be earnt by sticking around…they cant be arsed!

(I nicknamed him “PC Hardcore” :laugh_at:).
The second was just warning us not to blatantly advertise illegal parties on here (despite the fact we stopped doing that in 2005) or anything else contrary to UK law, and said “he knew we were hosted in a foreign country, and how to get the correct warrants etc.”.
This was around the time of the 2006 riots, which were the largest civil disturbance in recent times in East Anglia so TBH it didn’t surprise me.
I would hope the cops what read here do actually realise no one here this site has grown up a bit with the ravers and the scene and the bulk of people here are fairly responsible….
I’ve heard on the grapevine that although Suffolk have a reputation for being harsh, the authorities would actually tolerate a well run underground but legal event provided we kept everyone safe and there were no fights/thefts/disturbances or people overdoing drugs to such an extent they needed expensive NHS treatment… its just that history does not count in our favour, as Suffolk and Essex were pioneer counties for raves (both legal and unlicensed) in the 90s and bore the brunt of peoples drugs excesses…
