right im making a hammock chillout area in my garden, with two speakers, hammocks and coloured lights to go into the trees, i was a different coloured flood light pointing upwards on 3 of the trees and i want them to be lit up they are about 20-30 feet each and they are cherry trees, do u know what wattage i would be wanting for them, also how would i be able to hook them to the tree without dammaging, same for the speakers. if anyones got any hammocks to sell id be interested too, ive got 2 att the mo

also can i use gels on flood lamps

Well done mate you can say gay!

            Playground Politics,

If you are using lights like out-door xmas lights you could use cable ties to hold them to the tree they wouldn’t damage it at all. I wouldn’t worry about using screws though as i have screwed and nailed so many things to trees in the past without it dying or causing much damage.

I wouldnt know about the wattage you would be wanting to use, i think you might have to experiment a little with that to find what works, i can imagine you wouldnt want a high wattage as it would be bright and not a relaxing glow…..

re: nailing stuff to trees, you shouldn’t do any damage on a mature tree.

you might want to plug the hole you leave when you remove the nail or whatever though, to prevent any disease or infection getting in the wound.

                definitely don’t use copper nails!

If the gels are proper ones for stage you should be able to use them in the garden…The power you want is as low as possible to do the job and preferably energy savers if you can.

LED light strings are nice too and very twinkly :weee:

Actually thinking about it, i was going to get my girlfriend some lights for her room and i came across some “mobiles” on a website that look quite chilled.

If not I saw some lights that were blue cubes but when you moved your eyes past them, they glowed red :you_crazy Think it was Habitat i saw them in
