I went through a 10 month or so, Psy Trance Phaze during the earlier years of my 9 years as a “Raver” I was unsure at first compared with my usual Techno. then got the vibe with the help of mushies, bits of acid and poppers. I find, As Different as some style of psy are to other totally different styles of Psy, I still find myself bound by the obvious boundries of the Psy Trance Format.
Dont get me wrong, I can get away with bits of it now and again, but in the cold light of day, I find it empty and boring. and it drones on too long sometimes. Even the hard dark good sounding at first stuff.
I have been into hardcore, techno, psy trance, back to techno, into proper indusrial hardcore through the gabba for a lot of years and even into realms of certain speedcore bits, Only to find myself at repeated Dead Ends in my search for cheap thrills from the music. Now at the stage I am at, I have outgrown my Gabba and have found my buzz lingering with a small “scene” of mainly european hard techno and hard trance artists. Although the best music will always be a handfull of Gabba Artists, (about 5 or so) who never fail to saturate my brain receptors of Belta Sound enjoyment intake, whenever I play them.

GO on!
Cannot get enough of the stuff, all day long, all night long. Everything other music style I have been into has been ruined in the best possible way , by psychedelic music.February 20, 2010 at 5:35 am #1223294@CozMik 373353 wrote:

are you listening to the same music i am?
the reason i like psy is that there is so much going on in each track, so many different sounds and rythems all coming and going and evolving. good psytrance is like a little mini mix in iteslf, new sounds come in twist change split become other sounds merge into a beat blah blah blah. i love techno and breaks and dnb, pretty much most msuic tbf. but the reason that i went off dnb was that some tunes find a break or 8bar loop that sounds good then repeat that for 5minutes, and also theres not enough going on in a track and you can pretty much predict whats going to come next. i cant really do that with psy,

I end up listening to psytrance pretty much all the time for this very reason. I find it to be the most psychedelic type of music around, and it makes me listen to it in a completely different way to other types of music, so I’ve kind of been put off of other types of music. Don’t get me wrong, I have eclectic tastes and like lots of different styles of music, but none of them compare to psytrance and the way it makes me listen intently and feel the music…
