June 19, 2007 at 12:38 pm #1113231I would definitely not suggest taking any sort of recreational drug if you are going to SE Asia, and are in the slightest bit nervous (prescribed sleeping tablets benzodiazepines (tranquillisers) are OK but keep the prescription close at hand if possible).
On some airlines just as you are about to land in SE Asia (usually when approaching Malay or Indonesian airspace) you get both a warning card and a message on the PA reminding you that long prison sentences and in some cases the death penalty applies for drug offences.
This is probably not the sort of thing you want to hear when coming down..

I go on the 8th July and the only other drug I would defiantely be taking would be nicatine! The smoking ban starts on the 1st so I won’t even be able to have a quick ciggie at the airport to carm my nerves!

That dub reggae place is not on the koasan road by any chance is it?
I guess theres probably loads but my boyfriend mentioned a reggae bar which was really good In Bangkok.
Only staying there for a few nights though coz I heard its pretty expensive compared to the rest of Thailand. Were then heading to the islands Kopanyang and Ko samuie (excuse my ignorant spelling) for the full moon party. (infact excuse all of my spelling, i’m just rubbish!)

Well if she reccommends them they should be cool, as for nicotein get hold of some patches, it won’t be exatly the samr but it will def take the edge off! an every little is gona help . . . an then ur gonna have a lush holiday :weee:
