What happened then?
November 15, 2008 at 3:30 pm #1187328it’s the slow progression, everyone what works at the restaurant is being told we’re not needed, almost all the staff have been laid-off but me being the full-time one they’ve basically left me til last, but i went in this week and got sent home for 3 days cos there was no business
thinks its gonna fold basically
i dont mind, im not loyal as they are awful people what own it, but they owe me 800 in unlawful tax and i need my wage slips from them to prove it – but if i come across too strong they’ll just ‘disappear’.

unfortunately luxury things like restaurants are the first to fold..

at least todays dole isn’t like the 80s when Tebbit said “on your bike” and then robbed the wheels off it. There are a lot more opportunities and free funding for courses etc which are worth making use of.
I think in a few years time there will actually be a short boom (albeit followed by a worse decline) due to a rise in “green energy/infrastructure” projects, but if you are smart you can profit from this (and also learn useful stuff about self-sufficiency or network with enough people to preserve your supply routes).
