i was speaking to an italian and a fin, and i asked them what they thought the collective outside opinion was of england, and they, almost in unison, said “england needs to wake up to itself.” i think thats spot on. we are a country that thinks its so much better than it actually is, and for all the wrong reasons.

ronaldo’s only hated in this country cos when he plays you see why it’s called the beautiful game, a phrase which doesnt easily apply to british footie. psychological battles are all part of the game, and its just a shame that rooney isnt mature enough to deal withit. i did go out last night, just for one tho, too many dissapionted nutters on the loose. be interesting to see how the team plays without sven in the future.
