January 23, 2008 at 9:23 pm #1153287I was tempted to get a motorbike in October but one of my mates did get one earlier last summer.. then I saw him in November hobbling about on crutches all busted up (after a nasty crash) and that put me off a bit..

the biggest danger to a biker is other road users, if you bear that in mind and dont arse about too much why not?

There are a lot of dodgy road surfaces and spilt oil round here…

yeah an i get the dangers but still if someone really wants to do it and their reasonably sensible i think go for it.

January 23, 2008 at 9:42 pm #1153292I was always told to ride my motorbikes like everyone on the road is out to kill me, seemed to work pretty well. With the right protective gear you are pretty safe if you slip on oil and shit on a roundabout. Its these stupid crash barriers that are made of wire that you need to worry about.
Wack on a loud exhaust and wear a high-viz jacket and your pretty obvious to everyone, even one of these are pretty nippy:

The looks on peoples faces as you went flying past them on the bypass :weee:
