March 17, 2008 at 4:33 pm #1158180gets way more hectic in the Chinese places
one Chinese lad up North stabbed up his boss over an argument about holiday pay, cut his throat like a animal – he then left the body on the steps and tipped the pig bin and meat scraps over the body – more like a scene out of those extreme Kung Fu movies than what you’d expect to find in Staffordshire, even the cops were shocked….
got life in the can (not deported though, he was born in Newcastle!)

March 17, 2008 at 4:39 pm #1158181These sorts of incidents happens fairly often across the catering industry although often its usually just cuts rather than murder (explained away as “accidents”), places getting trashed/burned out, food being deliberately contaminated.
I don’t go to restaurants (whatever ethnic group runs them) unless me or my mates or my family know the people and that they are being well treated, I don’t like funding bullying/violence. its bad enough (or unavoidable) with drugs and I certainly won’t support it in a supposedly legitimate business.
Actually a lot of ethnic places these days rather than do the heavy stuff will just grass up their competitors to food safety or immigration..

March 17, 2008 at 6:52 pm #1158182Seen loads from being in the catering trade, waiters having anything from plates to pans and knives thrown at them. A pot monkey got stabbed in the arm with a steak knife, a chef had oven cleaner sprayed in his eyes.
Obviously there were a few punch ups, lucky for me i have only had one incident with another chef. My trainee chef threatened to stab me with a knife so i bounced his noggin of the work surface a couple of times, quickly solved the problem of him not listening 😉
