        Not been to that night so cant comment- but been to many a night at that club. VERY loud system, the type that makes your chest shake. Actually the type that gave me constant ringing in my ears :crazy_diz
        Croud should be ok- never had no trouble IIRC. Wicked dance floor, that everyone can see the stage well. Could be more places to chill (sofas and that)

          thats sore; can i recommend earplugs like for building sites [or wet toilet paper ear plugs] to get rid of that?:groucho:

          {btw you can still hear the music just fine raaaraaaraaa; just removes most of the distortion which causes this problem and means no ringing ears next day}

            i went to see De La Soul there last year or the year before

            the sound was total shit

            :hopeless:

            had to keep my fingers in my ears because of the screaming top end distortion, and could barely feel the bass

            i guess it depends if people are allowed to bring in their own system, or use the built in system and resident sound engineer, which I think they have to in the Academy

            :yakk:

            alrightish venue… quite large, the tiny bar is miles from dance floor though

                Yeah got some funky illuminous ear plugs…:groucho: Does help definately- actually makes the music sound a lot clearer, probably removing the distortion like you say raaa .It would be good if they sort out a proper cure for the ringing though. My doctor says there isnt one.

                Globallon: I believe theres a few bars in the place not just that one round the back- also one opposite the stage.

                  regretably this is true – the ringing is a sign of damage to your inner ear mechanisms and is not reversible :cry::cry::cry:

                  the only thing you can do is avoid clubs with this kind of distortion [ which is usually due to redline monkeys and poor sound engineering] and religiously use your earplugs to protect what is left of your hearing as intact as possible

                  i always wear earplugs when i am at any music event :weee:where i am not doing the sound engineering and do not have control of the red line monkeys [ i throw people off my rig for redlining and there is no second chance once i have; to get another shot i have to see them being responsible ( on other folks equipment mind ) for a protracted period and then i might consider it – so far no one has made it back in 12 years so the odds are not good:you_crazy]

                  your hearing is too precious to damage in this way
