Over the last 5 years there seems to be a lot of people who drive to raves and just sit in their cars most of the time… both in SE and Eastern England
OK I can understand a bit of this when the weather is dodgy but I’ve seen it in high summer as well.. often they seem to be just sneering at passers-by or are quite hostile to people who approach them..
IMO its not just ketamine as K has been around for ages and there are other drugs at raves still..
Its also a contagious attitude as well; I’ve spoken to people who do this and they aren’t bad people but often come across as wary of the others at the raves or that the car would otherwise get broken into…
but have things really got this bad that noone trusts one another any more, or people just endure each others company at raves rather than interact? Even if you don’t want to go stacking you can always explore the surroundings…
I sometimes wonder why do people bother with this? Might as well just go to the local car park late at night and cane drugs there.. saves on fuel costs…

i’ve thought about this aswell. I find if you get a bit fuked and need to go a chill quietly then the car is the best place! I usually go back to my car for the sake of a bong mix or sumthin like that! Its somtimes the reason that rigs will always play different genres in music so some people may not want to stomp to that so they just go and have a little time out in the motor! As much as its useful having ur car there for sakes of bad wether, stashing ETC, I’ve had better times when the cars been parked a mile away from the rig therefore not returning to the car so much!
October 25, 2006 at 4:51 pm #1092913I do like having the car closeby to store stuff n asa place to go back to every now and then but i do find when the ca is too close i have the tendency to spend a bit of time there and i always end up regreting the next day!

i do spend quite alot in the car!
i for one dont hurle abuse at ppl tbh im too spangled to do anything!
i do regret sitting in the car but sometimes i so it cos im too cold or want to spend some time with my bf :groucho:

but i will in future wrap up warmer and explore my unknown surroundings!:crazy_druOctober 25, 2006 at 6:25 pm #1092906my mate must be an elite member of the car krew! i cant remember a rave this year where he hasnt spent most of the night in his car. the other week he never even made it to the rig! but only cos he k holed within 20 mins of gettin there…. at least hes in a good state to drive home as he usually gets at least 4 hours sleep when at a rave!!
like soundguy says, the car should be for mixes and chillin when youve had a bit too much. it aint worth drivin for 3 hours to sit in your car listenin to your own tunes, but then each to his/her own!

even when i’ve been given the opportunity to play on someone elses rig at a party i’ve found myself haveing to go back to the cars asking everyone to come and support me
it’s crap
i reckon having a proper big bonfire helps this situationthough… provides a focus for people who are chilling out.. especially with someproper fire tricks going on
a chai stall with some chilled music and decent lighting is also a good idea
October 25, 2006 at 6:35 pm #1092904I like to use the car as a bit of a base, has some great mangled moments in the early hours chattin shit and skinnin up with mates and random people. You gatta make sure you sepntd a good portion of time loonin out at the stack though or whats the point ??

October 26, 2006 at 11:21 am #1092900I think there’s also a difference between people sitting in cars or rig vans with the doors open and chatting to passers by/inviting them in (which has always happened) compared with the more recent phenomenon of people actually sat locked inside their vehicles (like others said often listening to their own tunes!)
if you are into that sort of thing you can hang around car parks and show off cars / in car sound systems midweek in the local carpark (or every other day if you live in Ipswich :crazy_dru )

i do sit with my car door open and we say hi and greet other people!
if we see someone struggling then we help them!
And tbh we only sit in the car from about 8am anyway cos then when most of us are coming down or what not.
i love nothing better then a good old stomp!

She started comin to alot of the raves with us but always seems to sit in the car. cant see the point myself i always say y dont u just park up in a car park some where instead and save yr pet money. Also find the newer party peeps worry about the weather to much aswell and always result in sittin in the car. Another 1 it comes down to i find that since a few of my mates hav started doin K they just sit the came to. borin bastards!!!
