      I wondered if anyone remembered this book from when I was in junior school (I did not yet know any other languages so read the English version “Records, Tapes and Cassettes”). There was also the Dutch version “geluidsband en grammofoonplaat”.

      Given the young audience it was aimed at It was very well written with info on how to make your own mixtapes, radio programmes and all sorts and even the intricacies of DIN cables (used to connect audio equipment until the 1990s and one thing I am really glad to see the back of). Of course everything written in helvetica and a mixture of white on black and really bright colour photos..

      the lad could probably still get away with looking like that today in some rural parts of DE and NL..

      1970s jam session. All the kit in there is now classed as vintage audio. the girl there is probably now a head producer or station manager of a regional network in North Europe for some news programme…
