      hi every one i thought id just say there is a fake email being sent it says and looks like its from the abbey but its not i just recieved it i know it was a scam cos i dont even use that bank and never have and it also says its somethink to do with hmrc i phoned a abbey bank to let them know and they advise that you do not click on the link on the email or it may be possible for these people to get your details if you make payments online and stuff well be safe barnzy

        My mum got caught by a similar scam sometime back, they (the bank) refunded her money after about 3 weeks.

        Now everytime my mum gets one of these emails, she uses the ‘enter user name/password’ boxes to send rather racist remarks to the nigerians that operate the scam, at least they get the message lol!

        Another tip is make sure your browser is well upto date and use firefox, cos there was a security flaw in IE not long bk that got peoples details.

          Anyone actually using IE deserves it anyway :laugh_at:
