Hiya GL!unfortunately, i happen to live in essex [colchester] – born + raised inna small town 14 miles away too [halstead], so proper yokel!to be honest, i’ve never really tried going to any of the party attempts round here – not enough music i like + most of the rig owners i’ve had direct contact with seemed like too much of a liability! heard some disappointing tales about some local party attempts also [not to mention that death at a party in witham[?] a few years ago 🙁 ].i did go to a [very] small party @ stisted [between brainfree + halstead] few years ago [2001ish?], but a] shite rig, b] shite musick, c] load of the usual small town crew [by this i mean people i spent a lot of my social life avoiding anyway!].the highlight for us was pissing on a fire that someone had left unattended, then realising the party was being held on a s.s.s.i. – highly intelligent place for a party of any kind :(we left / party got pigged / ravers got smeared in local papers…i count myself lucky, in that a few of my older mates from round here got involved with one of the better london rigs quite early on, so i bypassed a lot of the dodgier london parties + never really had to go out round here…anyway, just my two cents so you’ve had a reply from an essex…as usual, excuse mentalness – on tail end of helpdesk night shift action!

just to clarify; we had to cancel all but 2 of the advertised nights in ipswich + colchester due to [variously] venue fuckups, demolition, stitchup phonecalls by nasty peeps, completely disorganised promoters, etc, etc, etc.just so anyone who cares knows!
sorry if anyone turned up at any of the venues – future events in the local area involving us WILL happen, ‘cos we’ll run them directly rather than playing at other peeps nights…
