people like to belong to social groups, especially ones which form part of their own identity?
combine this with a figurative use of the English language and I reckon your pretty much there.

yes i understand this i just don’t understand how people can be some gimpish about the whole thing. football seems to be the most important thing in a large majority of peoples lives and half of it is full of hatred for the other ‘cunts’ who live a few miles west or east or whatever.
so belonging in a ‘social group’ so you call it involves a lot of anti social crap involved 😛

i don’t get this.
November 3, 2011 at 2:44 am #1246012football gives you a sense of belonging. it gives you the utmost highs and the stabbed in the heart low of lows. an emotional rollercoaster that you never want to get off………even when it crashes for the umpteenth time. my team is shite but i would die for them cos its me and will always be me. my club. my team. my soul.
triblism is a good thing and you learn about the big bad world…..and trust me the football world can be heartbreakingly wicked……but i wouldnt have it any other way cos when your team actually wins something…….well! there is no feeling on gods green earth like it.
i fuckin love it!!

i just don’t get a boner over some men in shorts getting a ball in a net more times than the other team.
what about individual sports like skateboarding? people doing backflips over super massive mega ramps. do people support danny way and say ‘we won with a backflip!’. why is it we when there’s a group that are based in a certain area? madness 😀
November 3, 2011 at 3:50 am #1246013you like what you like poly but footballs in the blood blud :weee:
