do you not use firefox and adblock? I have both and never see any ads, although as I use my ICR-FM (community radio) station login for google it does mean the suggested videos are targeted.

What is really funny is that Google seem to genuinely think I am a Dutch farmer who runs a pirate radio station, I get suggested videos for tractors, pig farming, loads of piratenhits (ultra cheesy Dutch folk music that the rural people play on their stations) even the cat videos are in Dutch sometimes…

Mind you given my patterns of likes etc I can see why – they probably think I have some links with the NL/DE border (though I’m just curious about the area and the language).

            rtnVFRmedia – YouTube

I even sent Bé Muller a like as I thought it was cool that he eventually decided to retire from the Communications Agency of NL and take up banjo instead of busting all the radio pirates (from other videos he has uploaded he genuinely does like music to be fair and from what I’ve heard about him he was once a sailor which is why I can understand that he joined the PTT/Agentschap Telecom – having clear VHF airwaves is important to keep ships and aircraft safe.

He didn’t also just stop radio pirates but worked on frequency allocations for big music events (where there are radio microphones, the stewards handheld radios, broadcasters links and emergency services all in the same place and on nearby frequencies).

I’m equally surprised that 8 others would already look at a video I made of a fairly obscure telecommunications signalling protocol used on analogue lines where I hadn’t even had time to put up the explanation of what it is and why it is generated (though its useful to know how to detect it if you work on office phone systems to stop the voicemail being filled up with blank messages )
