yer i play alot of the darker stuff what never gets played anymore, like for instance you get a old top buzz tape from fantasia, or slipmatt or even ratpack, the tunes that were played was oldskool in its bad ass form, but now you go to a oldskool event and you hear baby d, on a rgga tip, best of rave 9tfuckin2 nah thats not what it was all about
i have droppped the odd anthem when i get the croud buzzin jsut for that weeeheeyyy element what it gives get people proper noddin there head then , yer drop a few rare dark 1,s and they are appreciated, been playin out and draggin the records about for 6 months now and had nothin but peeps commin up lookin at the labels, shakin my hand coz im takin it to the wway it used to be… any money i make goes straite back into the records to expand the variaty further, so its really nice to hear that some peeps remeber where its from and enjoys it and it brings nothin short of euroria playing it out!!love it ,,, av it , nuff respect

Sounds good stuff!
“i have droppped the odd anthem when i get the croud buzzin jsut for that weeeheeyyy element”
Nout wrong with playing anthems. Its just when they get played in a string one after the other. As good as they are they don’t really represent the way it used to be and you’ve heard 5million times before already.
Nice one mate!

January 9, 2004 at 11:01 am #1061642Yeah I play out too. But not usualy Old Skool. I only have about 200 old skool tunes so keeping it fresh for me is quite hard. I usually play techno which I also love with the same amount of passion.
By the way. Where do you get your tunes from when you buy old skool? I usually check imo, i-tunes, virtual vinyl and suburban sounds. Any tips on other places? Or is it a guarded secret?
January 9, 2004 at 11:04 am #1061643Oh and if you have a copy of “HOE – Deaf in the Family ep” then i’d be v.interested in it!! That record has to be one of my favourite pieces of vinyl. But over the years its been in and out of my possesion twice. Once when my idiot of a brother sold it and secondly when it went ‘missing’ 🙁

January 9, 2004 at 4:08 pm #1061644Thanks for the help.
I reckon you will probably know what tune I mean if you heard it. Maybe I should have said Hyper on Experience not HOE. Its moving shadow 31 I think. ‘Lord of the Null lines’ is probably the most well known track on the ep but every one of them is the dogs balls.
Lord of the null lines: Sad piano intro then samples from predator ‘fucking voodoo magic man’. If you haven’t heard that then you will definatly have heard the remixes by foul play and aquasky etc.
I’m off to those sites you mentioned 🙂
January 10, 2004 at 8:49 pm #1061640Thats a superb tune,i had forgotten all about it.Im sure i have it on a compilation somewhere,im off to look
January 11, 2004 at 12:33 am #1061645If you can’t find it then I recently found a site with a load of Hyper On Experience stuff on mp3. http://www.savetheuniverse.us/hoe.htm
The guy has some pretty shit views on the scene though! Read what he has put.
The HOE guys live right near me. And now they are mainly into funky stuff and chilled dnb. Funny how tastes change isn’t it.
