I was gonna post this in the “what are you listening to thread” but decided it really deserves it’s own thread! …

WOW or what?!?!?
February 24, 2012 at 9:18 am #1251006P.S. this reminds me of that guy itchycas (or what ever his name was) what used to post on here. 😛
massive wide stereo image and soft as fuck sounds but proper intense!
February 24, 2012 at 9:27 am #1251007This guy is versatile!

I think he might be Scottish :laugh_at:
(until I hear some mad sitar tune he’s probably done :D)
February 24, 2012 at 9:28 am #1251008Admin please change this thread title to “Wisp” the guy really deserves his name in the title.
February 24, 2012 at 9:32 am #1251009(you can tell he make’s his shit for hi fi and not sound systems tho as it’s mega mid rage fest, mby that’s just my speakers tho. (mine are pretty flat considering hi fi speakers)

February 24, 2012 at 10:40 am #1251015Many wisp fans disagree with me but I think his ‘The Shimmering Hour’ album is the best thing he’s ever done by a long way. It’s my favourite album of all time and ‘keeper of the hills’ is my favourite song of all time

It pushes wistful nostalgic buttons deep inside me. Wisp is a case in point that electronic music can be soulful and emotionally charged

That one that CF uploaded is wicked too.Love it, gonna get some of the albums me thinks.
A lot of his music is available free from his archives

his. I’ve noticed with electronic music its rarely a ‘them’ and rarely a ‘she’. I think its really hard to collaborate well with a purely electronic track because ultimately somebody has to ‘own’ the sequencer file and do all the hard slog in a format they like and that won’t get messed with.
And girls seem rarely geeky enough to want to spend hours looking at knobs, wires, and graphs. They tend to be better at more hands on composition (nearly all my favourite folk artists are female for example).

yeah I noticed there are barely any female EDM producers, shame really. Cause if there fit, it more reason to like them lol

I’ve not heard alot of this guy’s stuff .. this is like the third song today, I’m gonna research more as this guy is, as the Americans say, “DOPE”. I’m gonna back track in this thread and listen to some of what every one else has posted, I just had to post this tune b4 I read anything as this tune is so good. I recon it beats aphex’s production tbh.

I was hoping that you would either reply “I’ve never heard that, that’s amazing, just what I was looking for” OR “This Is what I love” 🙂
The first tune I played well reminded me of your music, you can proper see the influence, your shit is unique musically, but with regards to softness of sound and production I can see where it came from. <3
February 27, 2012 at 11:12 am #1251018Wisp definitely inspired me but i dont htink i could make anything wisp-like without it sounding exactly like wisp which i dont really want to do 😛 so i just aim to be that emotional in my tunes
