After recently attending a gig in London, mentioning no names, They said that the act was a “live” one. As this DJ was a well-known and respected DJ/producer, I as the punter was expecting a live act on stage wiv pc’s,moniters and mixing desk, maybe even some new stuff that no-one had heard before.
      What did we get?
The so-called DJ mixin on the decks with their vinyl. They may have slipped in a dub-plate or 2, maybe even hooked up to the system with a cd but this was def not a live act.

Yes they may have been alive at the time, yes they may have been on stage, but the flyer was very deceiving and i am sure that there are many more guilty parties out there who print simular claims but dont come up with the goods.

LIVE ACTS ARE VERY IMPORTANT! We must never forget this before we get swallowed up in the commercialism of it all.

I think they are going by the “top of the pops” definition of live.

y not name and shame them? if u don’t then other will get ripped off, if they do then they may lose punters and money, and then they must think why this happened. You have 2 fight back to make them realise they can’t rip people off.

Or go to free parties or places like Headfuk where live means live.

Yeah, there are more than a few examples of this happening over the years,i believe that live should mean live,if its a ‘top of the pops’ type live then that should be made clear too.

I never knew live was a dj set…….I guess I perform live then?????lol

I guess it’s better than having a “live” performance previously recorded on DAT or something…
